WHO COULD BENEFIT?
Individuals with excess skin or severe wrinkles on the insides of their thighs.
THE GOALS:
Tighter, smother skin on the insides of the thighs.
Medial thighs with improved contour or shape.
Improved self image.
THE PROCEDURE:
General anesthesia is administered. However, in selected patients, we can perform this procedure with epidural anesthesia.
We remove the excess skin on the insides of the upper thighs. In most cases, the incisions are hidden up in the groin. For some patients vertical incisions also are necessary.
POST-OP RECOVERY:
Many patients are able to go home on the day of surgery. More mature patients usually stay overnight in the hospital. Most patients are able to return to works in two to three weeks. We instruct patients for six weeks not to spread their knees apart.
INSURANCE?
If the patient suffers from rashes inside the folds of excess skin, her health insurance company might cover a portion of the surgery.
NOTE:
The suitability of medial thigh lift for an individual is determined during the office consultation. All procedures have risks. Minor complications occur occasionally. Major complications are quite rare.
